According to an article in the 12 January 1941 New York Times, Louis D. Barber had been an 1890s prize-fighter at Philadelphia, and may have had a bout in 1900 with Joe Grim. He became an Atlantic City, NJ, police office. He died 10 January 1941 at age 59 years.
