Louis Ruddick while never winning a British title was a long time contender as a flyweight and bantamweight. Both he and his twin brother George started fighting as Young Ruddick so unraveling exactly who is who early on is very difficult. But Louis Ruddick was certainly one of the best fighters to come out of Leeds in the early part of the 20th Century. Louis was stopped in his 141st fight for apparently the only time in his fighting career and promptly retired. George Ruddick was also a very competent fighter though not on the same level as Louis.
