Luis Rodriguez 151 lbs beat Rubin Carter 156 lbs by UD in round 10 of 10

From The Associated Press, August 27, 1965:

Luis Rodriguez of Miami, Fla. scored a repeat victory over Rubin (Hurricane) Carter of Paterson N.J., the third ranking middleweight in the world, with a unanimous 10-round decision last night at the Olympic Auditorium.

There were no knockdowns but the heavy-hitting Carter caught Rodriguez coming in with a solid right to the jaw in the fourth round.

The Cuban exile's knees buckled and he fell into a clinch to escape further damage.

Carter belted Rodriguez with another right smash late in the 10th, but could not follow up the advantage as Luis again clinched.

Rodriguez and his familiar jab-and-run tactics were too frustrating for Carter to solve, and in the later rounds Rodriguez opened up with a few rights to the head in a show of abandon.

Carter actually landed only four clean rights, all to the jaw, during the evening. One came in the third, the big one in the fourth, a short punch in the seventh and the final in the 10th.
