"Luis Rodriguez of Cuba advanced a step nearer a title bout with welterweight champion Don Jordan last night by taking a unanimous decision over Garnet (Sugar) Hart of Philadelphia in the 10 round main event at the Miami Beach Auditorium. It was a fight which started out as a zephyr and ended like a whirlwind, with both fighters bleeding from cuts over their left eyes and generally exhausted. The No. 2 ranked Rodriguez won by flailing away at Hart, keeping him off balance and refusing to give him punching room." -Associated Press
