Lupe Pintor 118 lbs beat Seung Hoon Lee 117 lbs by TKO at 0:43 in round 11 of 15

"Lupe Pintor of Mexico retained his WBC bantamweight title for the final time Thursday night, stopping Seung Hoon Lee of South Korea in the 11th round. Pintor had broken Lee's nose in the 6th round, but the fight lasted 46 seconds into the 11th round when referee Rudy Jordan called a halt. Lee used his boxing skill to stymie the champion in the early rounds and deck him in the 5th with a right hand at a time Pintor said he was objecting to butting. In the 11th, Pintor had Lee on the ropes and was hammering home punches at will. Although the Korean never went down, he was putting up little defense." -Associated Press

  • Unofficial AP scorecard (through 10 completed rounds) - 96-93 Pintor
  • Purses: Pintor - $175,000, Lee - $30,000

Post-fight comment

  • "I'm glad the referee stopped the fight because I was hurting Lee and he wasn't returning the punches. And now, let me repeat, I will no longer fight in the 118 lb. division. Bring on Wilfredo Gomez." -Lupe Pintor
