Bout Summary
Abdusalamov came forward and threw heavy shots which landed well against Pettaway in Round 2. Pettaway began to bleed from a likely broken nose in the second round. Pettaway continued to take punches in Round 3 with little in retaliation. By the end of Round 3, he was clearly winded and was getting added attention from the referee. A clean combination sent Pettaway back into the ropes and down on all fours at 0:52 of Round 4. He got to his feet at the count of eight and was allowed to continue. Abdusalamov came forward and continued to bang away, knocking out the mouthpiece of Pettaway. At that, the doctor came up on the ring apron and began trying to stop the fight. After a few more punches and with Pettaway clearly out of it and bleeding heavily, the referee waved an end to the bout.
