In a televised bout on the Toney-Oquendo undercard, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania Heavyweight Malik Scott rose his record to 32-0, 11 kayos, with an eight round decision win over veteran Raphael Butler, now 34-8 with 24 kayos. Scott appeared to win every round with combinations that backed up Butler and put him on the defensive. However, Butler remained competitive with some counter hooks to the body and head, and used his ring experience to survive by grabbing into clinches whenever he was in trouble.
