"Unbeaten Mando Ramos attracted another $30,000-plus gate Thursday night as he scored a unanimous 10 round decision over Pete Gonzalez at the Olympic Auditorium. Ramos, 132 1/2, Long Beach, had to catch fire in the 3rd round. Gonzalez, 131, San Jose, had won the first two rounds, but was tagged in the head several times by Ramos in the 3rd. Ramos took full control in the 5th round and punished Gonzalez badly throughout the remainder of the bout." -United Press International
