Bout Summary
- The shorter Melligen kept the fight on the outside, catching Zepeda with counter lefts and right hooks. Zepeda came forward, but had difficultly landing on his southpaw opponent. Zepeda was wobbled by a quick 1-2 in round 3. In round 4, a cut developed below Zepeda's left eye, and a small cut developed over the eye as well. Zepeda immediately began to move, and barely threw any punches. Melligen attacked his retreating opponent, and referee Joe Cortez stepped in to stop the fight just as Zepeda was dropped to a knee by a left uppercut.
