Mark's pro career ended due to a serious knee injury sustained in a street fight whilst moonlighting as a doorman at a club.

His son Kiyan Prince was tragically murdered aged 15 in May 2006 when he was stabbed in the heart trying to break up a fight outside his school. Kiyan was a talented footballer who was playing for QPR.

Mark started the Kiyan Prince Foundation in 2008 and was awarded an OBE and an Honorary Doctorate for his work helping youngsters tackling knife and gang crime.
