Summary

Godfrey was behind in the fight heading into the fourth round. Nwodo stunned Godfrey with a right hand in the first round, which he followed up by pushing Godfrey to the canvas. No knockdown was scored as it was ruled a slip, but Godfrey appeared a bit shaken as the round came to a conclusion. Both fighters would land clean shots on each other in the second frame with Nwodo seemingly getting the better of the exchanges. In the third round, both fighters landed right hands simultaneously with Nwodo’s punch doing more damage as Godfrey fell backwards to the canvas for the only official knockdown of the fight. In the fourth round, Godfrey opened up and hurt Nwodo early on and continued the follow up assault throughout the remainder of the fight. A nasty gash opened up over the nose of Nwodo during the attack. With blood spilling from the nose of Nwodo and Godfrey landing countless clean shots consecutively, the referee called a halt to the bout.
