Max Baer vs. Walter Cobb

In the early goings of the bout, Cobb resorted to fouling, nailing Baer below the belt on several occassions. Baer retaliated with dirty tactics of his own, headbutting Cobb in the 2nd round, which opened up a bad cut over Cobb's left eye, that covered both men in blood. Baer also hit during the breaks. Referee Toby Irwin warned the fighters to fight clean in the 3rd round, and was hit by an accidental, some felt intentional blow, from Baer.

In the 4th, a long, looping left hand from Baer had Cobb on wobbly legs. A follow-up right hand, caused his legs to dip, and a left hook put him on the canvas for an eight count. Baer went right after Cobb, and hit him with a powerful right hand that sent him on his way to the canvas, but not before he added another left hook as he was heading down. Referee Toby Irwin, raised Baer's hand without bothering to count.
