John B. (Macon) McCormick (1837-04.09.1903) was a famous sporting and theatrical writer.
McCormick was born in Cincinnati, OH. He founded a special department covering sports in Cincinnatti Enquirer and was for a long time the sporting editor of that newspaper. He was responsible to a great extent for bringing out John L. Sullivan. During later years he wrote for several New York newspapers.
