Ray McMillan, of Frostburg, MD, years earlier changed his name to Mickey Shannon and made a successful campaign in Pittsburgh and the East. At the height of his career Shannon boxed Al Roberts, NY heavyweight, and received injuries to his head when knocked down that resulted in his death before regaining consciousness. NY Times 7/23/25
