- Malignaggi was down in the second round, and in the fifth he suffered a cut over the left eye, about an inch and a half long on the outer edge above the lid.
- By round eleven he was showing nose, lip and right jaw puff injuries. The post bout examination showed he had a broken right cheek bone.
