"Stocky Miguel Berrios, young NY featherweight, beat veteran Bobby Bell of Youngstown, Ohio, tonight with rapid-fire bursts of hooks to body and head for an upset majority 10-round decision in their TV fight at St. Nicholas Arena. Bell, 128, to Berrios' 127 1/2, was favored at 9-5 because of his greater experience but Berrios won with his speedy hooks. Miguel, 23, staggered his 27-year old opponent with a left hook to the head in the 10th round. He also knocked him into the ropes with a right to the chin in the 2nd round. There were no knockdowns but Bell finished with his right eye badly swollen. Bell's best rounds were the 3rd, 4th and 6th before tiring in the 7th round." -United Press
