Miguel Canto 112 lbs beat Ignacio Espinal 112 lbs by UD in round 15 of 15

"Miguel Canto combined boxing skill, speed and tough infighting to retain the WBC flyweight title by defeating Ignacio Espinal of the Dominican Republic by a unanimous decision. Some 10,000 fans in Merida's baseball park rose to their feet in a tribute to their hometown champion when the bell rang ending the 15th and final round. The taller, longer-reaching Espinal set an aggressive pace from round one, but the 27 year old champion used superior speed to elude the Dominican most of the time. Espinal never managed to land more than two punches in a row. Canto crowded the Dominican in a strategy Espinal was never able to match." -United Press International
