Boxing kind of found Mike Marshall in a round-about way when, after hanging out with his school friends, he was caught up in a local gang fight with guys nearly twice his age. Not having a choice, he fought back and although he didn't come out quite on top, a local police officer took Marshall to one side, impressed with the way this young man handled himself, and gave him an outlet for his raw skills in the form of a boxing gym.
