According to an October 18, 1930 news item with an Omaha dateline in the October 18, 1930 edition of the Lincoln Star on the Newspaper.com website, Mike Rozgall had sustained a brain hemorrhage after a workout on October 17, 1930, in preparation for a tentative bout with Joey "Phalen." (There was a middleweight named Joe Phelan who fought out of Omaha, Nebraska from 1927 to 1933. He had won a decision in a six-round bout with Rozgall in Omaha on September 26. 1930.) Rozgall was near death and not expected to survive. According to his manager, Alvie Graves, Rozgall had recently complained of a headache and felt so ill that he didn't have his regular daily workout on Thursday (October 16, 1930). The next day, he felt much better and had a strenuous workout, collapsing in the shower afterwards.

According to the U.S. Census Records database on the Ancestry.com website, one Mike Rozgall, a 24-year-old native of Yugoslavia, was living with his 21-year wife, Molly, and his 3-month-old son, Michael, in Omaha, Nebraska during 1930. Mike was employed as a butcher.

According to the Find A Grave website, one Mike Rozgall was buried in Saint Mary's Cemetery in Omaha, Nebraska. According to his tombstone, Rozgall was born in 1905 and died in 1930.
