"Milo Savage, 159 1/2, a non-stop puncher from Salt Lake City, finished strong to win a unanimous 10-round decision over Chicago's Bobby Boyd, 157 1/4, in a network television bout at St. Nicholas Arena. Milo, a 3-2 favorite, laid on with right hands to sweep the last three rounds. There were no knockdowns, but Boyd took a terrific pounding in the 8th." -Associated Press
