Sugar Boy Nando of Aruba was a lucky strike for a new group of Norwegian promoters after Leif Hansen and the Swede Edwin Ahlquist split up after a money dispute,involving some of the Norwegian pros.

Norway now only had the speedy and elegant lightweight Tore Magnussen as a title hope, while heavyweight Bjarne Lingaas had retired and the two middleweights Roy Askvold and Johnny Romsaas had lost to fighters below European top level. To most Norwegians pro boxing was essentially a "negro sport". The new tabloid form had exposed on their front pages Sonny Liston and his gangster affiliates,the Griffith-Paret tragedy and of course the Cassius Clay phenomena.

Sugar Boy Nando drew 3000 to the Njaardhallen and KO'd the Syrian veteran Mohamed Sahib in the 2nd round. Sahib went down in the 1st from a right which looked harmless. He took punishment in the 2nd,clung defenceless to the ropes while Nando fired away before the referee stopped it.

Nando fought five times more in Oslo,through 1966 and 1967.
