The Morning Athletic Club was established (date unknown) by the Federal Mining Company for its employees. By the early 1920s Chet McIntyre--the well-known Seattle athletic director, boxer, and promoter--had been hired to run the club. The Tacoma News Tribune later reported that he had discovered Leo Lomski here.
