Mua Taliulu was born in Laulii, Samoa (Upolo) and currently resides in Western Australia. Taliulu left New Zealand to start work in the booming gold industry in Western Australia. Traveling to Laverton where he worked at Western Mining for some years, until the arrival of his wife and four children in 1991. Eldest Son Daniel, twin daughters Janet and Juliette, and youngest son Jason. Mua unfortunately lost his loving wife Alofa Avei Taliulu in Western Australia in December 1993, shortly after her arrival, due to asphixiation.

He left Laverton to see his daughters finish school at Scarborough Highschool in Perth for 2 years. He then moved back to Laverton in 1996, where he has been situated since, working happily as a council worker. Before that he also worked at the Jundee Mine as well as crowd control at the Laverton Desert Inn Motel.
