Died at his home in Mdantsane, South Africa after falling ill some weeks before. Was involved in training Mdantsane pro boxers until then.

Luzipho's birth date has been variously reported as having been in 1964, 1966 or 1967. In any case, he was the youngest boxer ever to held Old Buck Belt given to South African national champions.

Won the South African Light Flyweight Title on August 10, 1982 with a decision victory over Thamsanqa Sogcwe.

After retiring, he worked as a cornerman for IBF Super Bantamweight champion Vuyani Bungu.
