"Nestor 'Baba' Jiminez made his first defense of his Columbian bantamweight title, winning by TKO over Ruben Valdes in the 4th round. Shortly after the contest got under way, Jiminez dropped Valdes for the mandatory eight count with a right to the jaw. When the challenger got to his feet, the champion pinned him against the ropes and uncorked a barrage in an unsuccessful effort to put him away. 'Baba' Jiminez opened a cut over Valdes' eye in the 2nd round and Valdes visited the canvas again in the 2nd and 3rd rounds. The referee halted the match, acting on the advice of Commission physician, Dr. Gabriel Lago." -Ring Magazine, December 1974 issue
