Noemi “La Rebelde" Bosques, was born on April 20, 1983, in Saint Petersburg, Florida. At three years old, her father would play boxing games with her at home. Little did he know how these seemingly playful games would influence Noemi later in life.
Noemi stayed involved in sports throughout middle school and high school, excelling in basketball, track, and flag football. Her athletic prowess and sportsmanship allowed her to win an MVP award and was voted the “Most Athletic” student of her high school class.
At the age of 18, after graduating, Noemi signed up for local boxing competitions “for fun” without any training experience. In those "for fun" competitions, she went undefeated in six contests stopping all but one of her opponents. With this experience, Noemi sought out serious training to expand her boxing ability, but it was her family that grew with the birth of her daughter.
Noemi, now 24-years-old, returned to the ring embarking on what she describes as an "exciting” amateur career. She was ranked number one at the Sunshine State Games in Florida her first year boxing; finalist in the Kansas City Ringside World Tournament; finalist in the Florida State Pals, bronze medalist at the National Pal; ranked number one in Florida State two consecutive years; ranked number one in the Region for two consecutive years; and ranked top 10 in the United States for two years in a row.
Noemi’s pro debut took place on May 18, 2012, in Tampa, Florida at the Doubletree Hotel. Noemi proved to herself and the boxing community that all of the years of training had paid off as she defeated Amarillis Adorno by a four-round unanimous decision. She quickly climbed the rankings claiming three titles which triggered high-profile bouts against the best fighters women’s boxing.
