A right hand about two second into the 9th round, hurt Marshall badly. He attempted to go into a clinch, to remain standing, but he continued falling, and was hit by two light left hooks to the body on his way down. Marshall landed on his face, and attempted to rise at seven, getting to his hands and knees, before collapsing and taking the ten count.
Marshall was ahead at the time of the stoppage.
