Old-timer

This usually refers to those boxers who fought before the present generation. For people of the early 1900s, the boxers of the 1800s were "old-timers." For people of today, those who fought up to the late 1940s are generally considered old-timers. Today's active boxers will be tomorrow's "old-timers."
