- Lontchi tried to press the action, but Conners was making little attempt to throw back, and instead resorted to holding throughout.
- Conners was down in round 1 from two left hooks to the body.
- Conners would again go down in round 2, this time on a light right hand as he turned away from Lontchi. The punch was so inconsequential that Lontchi, having retreated to a neutral corner, laughs in disbelief.
- Conners was deducted a point for excessive holding in round 2, and was repeatedly warned by the referee for spitting out his mouthpiece.
- In round 3, the referee stopped the action and awarded the fight to Lontchi as Conners was showing little interest in trying to fight.
