Orlando Johnson was a exceptional amateur boxer who represented Wentworth Gardens & Stateway Park boxing teams in Chicago Illinois.
Johnson won multipule amateur titles.

• In 1977 Johnson defeated Francisco Mercer for the Chicago Park District 70 lb. Junior Championship for ages 10-11 yrs.
  
• In 1979 Johnson won the CPD 106 lb. jr. flyweight title besting Julien Quezada.
  

• Chicago Golden Gloves 125 lb. Open division Champion 1980, 1982 vs Vince Hudson & 1983 vs Dwight Pratchett.

In 1980 fought Hector Camacho in the Intercity Chi vs New York.
