Orlando Zulueta 135 lbs lost to Ludwig Lightburn 141 lbs by UD in round 10 of 10

"Ludwig Lightburn, a decisive winner over Orlando Zulueta in a one-sided rematch, has acceoted offers of October bouts in Tokyo, Manila and Bangkok to strengthen his claims as a lightweight contender. The strong youngster from British Honduras took complete charge of Zulueta last night at MSG for a unanimous decision in a 10 rounder over the Cuban who upset him in the same ring on July 13. At 141 pounds, three pounds heavier than he was in the first match, Lightburn was too strong for the Cuban with his slick left jab." -Associated Press

  • Unofficial AP scorecard - 8-2 Lightburn
  • Hymie Wallman, Zulueta's manager, claimed to have a gentleman's agreement with Allie Clark, Lightburn's manager that their fighters would come in at 137 give or take a pound. Clark said he knew nothing of an agreement and that all he had was the contract stipulating they come in at 140 give or take a pound.
  • Clark stated he had two offers from Tokyo for Lightburn's services in October worth $3,000 each and an offer from Manila and Bangkok, both worth $3,500 each. None of which, came off.

Post fight comment:
