"Oscar Albarado pounded Johnny Brooks' left eye into bloody hamburger meat with a thumping left jab and a whistling right cross Tuesday night to earn a 7th round TKO over the New Orleans veteran. As it was, the contest ended none too soon for the Uvalde slugger, for Albarado's left eye was almost closed and Brooks had opened a cut under it in the 6th round. That was about all the damage either fighter could do, for neither was even staggered during the action that preceeded the halting of the scrap at 2:06 of the 7th by referee Leonard Zuniga." -San Antonio Express
