Oscar Albarado vs. Raul Soriano
Oscar Albarado 149 lbs beat Raul Soriano 149 lbs by SD in round 10 of 10
- Date: 1970-11-24
- Location: Municipal Auditorium, San Antonio, Texas, USA
- Referee: Lou Johnson 99-96
- Judge: Eddie Lopez 97-95
- Judge: Mike Corales 96-99
"Raul Soriano's jab was as quick as a strobe light, and painted Albarado's face red with their stinging force. His counter-punches were sharp and accurate as he took barrages of Albarado's wild punches on his arms and shoulders, then stabbed home retaliatory blows to the face and body. Albarado was far too slow for him and his jab seldom hit anything more vulnerable than Soriano's glove or arm. He made almost as much contact with his head as with his gloves and repeated pleas from Soriano to referee Lew Johnson went as unnoticed as the butts. Johnson scored it 99-96 for Albarado, judge Eddie Lopez also gave the Texan the nod by a 97-95 count. The other judge Mike Corales scored it 99-96 for Soriano." -San Antonio Express
