"Argentine heavyweight Oscar Bonavena sent Roy 'Cookie' Wallace sprawling to the canvas barely into the 1st round then put him down three more times before scoring a 6th round knockout Monday night. Bonavena knocked Wallace down in the opening round, then decked him again in the 2nd, 4th and twice in the 6th for keeps. After the first four knockdowns Wallace managed to climb back to his feet grinning each time, which appeared to infuriate Bonavena. Wallace then made his best showing of the bout in the 5th before Bonavena put him away convincingly in the 6th. Referee Buddy Basilico stopped the fight one minute into the 6th after Bonavena floored Wallace with a barrage of punches to the face." -Associated Press
