“There were no knockdowns and nothing resembling one. From the outset, Paddy was a busy boy. He threw punches from all angles, banging away in close to the body and scoring repeatedly with a straight left before Savoie could get set to throw his lethal right hand. DeMarco did all the fighting during the first four rounds. Savoie started to punch in the fifth as DeMarco moved in and a couple of short right-hand blows jarred Paddy momentarily. But DeMarco was too busy again for Savoie and got an even break in the sixth. Paddy had a wide edge in the next three rounds. Savoie threw more punches in the tenth round and scored with several sharp blows which had the crowd briefly shouting for a knockout. However it was a case of too little, too late as DeMarco covered up neatly.”
