Patrick Teixeira versus Marcus Willis Light Middleweight Bout
- ESPN2 Friday Night Fights preliminary bout to the Sergio Mora main event bout. Also scored by ESPN viewers on Facebook.
- First time in both Teixeira's and Willis' career the fighters went a full ten rounds. Scoring appeared neutral and very fair.
- 20-0 Brazilian southpaw Teixeira came forward with pressure and was a much busier fighter than Willis all night. Fair number of clinches.
- Teixeira appeared to win all rounds except for the eighth round, won by Willis as Teixeira began to tire. Teixeira gave Willis a pillar to post beating in the seventh round, with many overhand shots. Bout could have been stopped by the referee. Willis somehow just barely survived.
- One judge's scorecard had it 98-92 for Teixeira. Commentator Teddy Atlas had it 97-93 Teixeira. 96-94 and 97-93 were other scorecards.
- Willis gave a credible effort for the television bout and was 'in the house' trying hard, but had almost no power in his punches and counters.
