- Clavette was initially slated to defend his Quebec Middleweight Title against Lemaire. However, the promoter decided not to pay the sanctionning fee. Clavette was therefore stripped of his title as Quebec Boxing Council regulations provide that the champion's title must be on the line in any fight against a ranked contender.
- Lemaire down face first in round 1 from an overhand right to the temple.
- Lemaire down again in round 4 from a straight right hand to the jaw. Although he beats the count, he is clearly still shaken and Clavette's ensuing barrage of punches forces the referee to step in and call a halt to the bout.
