On August the 22nd 1942, a Saturday afternoon, Paul was on his way home when he was hit by a bus. It was never determined if it was the bus drivers fault or not. Paul was taken immediately to the Elizabeth Hospital in Lutzowstrabe, but it was in vain. He died of his injuries three days later on August 25th.
