Boxing Illustrated, June 1969, reported:

BARCELONA, Spain... European Lightweight champion Pedro Carrasco, 134, of Spain, retained his title by stopping Tore Magnussen 133, of Norway, in the third round before over 14,000 fans at the Sports Palace.

Carrasco, who made his fourth sucessful defense of his title, was in complete command from the opening round when he floored his challenger for a count of eight with a sharp left hook to the jaw.

Tore escaped further damage in that round and also in the second by staying on the defensive, but early in the third round he was stung by a hard left to the body.

Pedro quickly followed up his advantage and a left-right to the head dropped Magnussen for a count of six. Carrasco wasted little time when Tore arose and a series of lefts and rights dropped him again for the count of six.

Arising this time Magnussen was rubber-legged and after another series of lefts and rights from Carrasco, the referee stopped the one-sided contest.
