Pee Wee Jarrell was the Indiana state welterweight champion in the early 1930s. A popular draw for fans, he was known to be "eccentric" in the ring and talked to both his opponent and fans throughout the bout. [1]

According to United States Census records on Ancestry.com, one Jack Jarrell, a 25-year-old native of Tennessee and a "boxer," was living with his wife, Irma, and his one-year-old daughter, Norma, in the home of his widowed Belgian-born mother-in-law, Philomena DeVlieger, in Mishawaka, Indiana during 1930.

According to a birth certificate in digital form in the Indiana, Birth Certificates, 1907-1940 database on Ancestry.com, one Norma Constance Jarrell was born on January 18, 1929 in the St. Joseph Hospital in Mishawaka, Indiana. Her parents were Jack Lee Jarrett and Irma "DeVleighi." Jack was born on February 16, 1905 in Tennessee with his occupation listed as being "Studebaker." Irma was born on February 1, 1906 in Mishawaka. Note- Studebaker was a large wagon and automobile manufacturer which existed from 1852 to 1967. During most of its history, Studebaker was based in South Bend, which is located near Mishawaka.

According to the Find A Grave website, one Jack Lee Jarrell was born on February 16, 1905 and died on August 25, 1978. He is interred in the Shady Grove Cemetery, which is located in Shady Grove, Coffee County, Tennessee.
