Pentti Henrik Johannes Rautiainen was a Finnish European Championship in Amateur Boxing and a professional boxer.
Rautiainen boxed in the national match for the first time at the age of 18 in 1953. [2] At the 1955 European Championships in Berlin, he won bronze in the under-60 kg category. [3] In his opening match, he defeated Ireland's Steve Coffey 3-0 and the next round by knocking out East Germany's Hans Liwowski in the first round. In the semi-finals, he lost to Egypt's Nessim Monstapha by 3-0. [4] Rautiainen won the Finnish championship at the 57-kilo in 1953, the 60-kilo in 1956 and the 63.5-kilo in 1957. He represented the Viipurin Nyrkkeilijät at the club level.
Rautiainen became a professional in 1957. He boxed as a professional 21 times and won 17 of his matches, lost two and drew twice. He later served as a ring judge, including in the Light Heavyweight European Championship between Piero del Papa - Conny Velensek in 1971. He was the chairman of the Professional Boxing Federation of Finland from 1972–1984.
