Percy Bassett 127 lbs beat Lulu Perez 125 lbs by RTD in round 11 of 12

"Percy Bassett, 126 3/4, Philadelphia, is in line for an October shot at featherweight champion Sandy Saddler after his 11th round TKO over young Lulu Perez, 125 1/2. Bassett wore down the 21 year old from Brooklyn with his heavy hooks to the body, dropping him for an automatic eight-count in the 11th and cutting his left eye in the 8th Thursday night in MSG. Bassett swarmed all over Perez, driving him against the ropes, scoring with a long right to the head often and of course, with those deadly hooks to the body. The bout was stopped after the 11th when Perez said he couldn't go out for the last round of the 12-round elimination match." -Associated Press
