Pete Ehrmann

Obituary

He was well-known and greatly respected by a large number of boxing historians, writers, collectors and statisticians. Beginning in the mid-1960's Pete wrote the monthly Wisconsin boxing news for The Ring magazine. The Ring editor and publisher Nat Fleischer never knew that Pete was just a youngster in middle school at the time. Pete continued to write boxing stories for the Ring, other boxing magazines and numerous newspapers for many years to come. For me personally, his beautifully written and thoroughly researched stories on various boxers of the past that appeared semi regularly in The Ring throughout the 1990's and early 2000's were real highlights of his writing career.
