Pal Moore was the best known of five fighting brothers who lived in Philadelphia. The others were Willie, Reddy, Frankie, and Al. Their family name was actually Von Franzke.
Another well known fighter who used the name "Pal Moore" was Thomas Wilson Moore of Memphis, TN. The Memphis Moore was usually called "Memphis Pal Moore," and was a namesake for the original Pal Moore of Philadelphia, whose career was nearly over when the Memphis man started. The alternate name of "Philadelphia Pal Moore" was not used when the original Pal Moore was starting out, or when he was in his peak form.
