Young Danish lightweight hope Preben Rasmussen (14-1-0 ) did what most promising lightweights and featherweights in Europa had to do in the 1960's and 70's: Step into the ring with trial horse Boualem Belouard (17-17-8), the North African fighting out of Germany.

It was a 6 rounder where the Dane scored points with both hands to the head and body, stepping back when Belouard came forward with his short hooks. Belouard got a small cut above his eye in the 5th. Rasmussen go the verdict, Belouard raised his conquerer's hand and drew applause from the 4500 crowd in Copenhagen's KB-Hall.
