Prichard Colon died at age 33 on August 13, 2026, nearly 11 years after a controversial 2015 bout against Terrel Williams left him with a devastating brain injury.

Colon, who had entered the bout with an unbeaten 16-0 record, was knocked down in the ninth round and later disqualified. He collapsed after returning to his dressing room and was diagnosed with a subdural hematoma. Colon underwent emergency brain surgery and spent 221 days in a coma. He later regained consciousness but was left unable to communicate verbally and remained in a vegetative state, cared for by his family until his death.
