New York State and WBA Fedalatin Super Bantamweight Champion Rafael Vazquez
- Nicknamed 'Dynamite'
- Popular Brooklyn Super Bantamweight fighter
- Fought and won the longest 10 round professional bout ever, unexpectedly caused by delays to repair the ring during the bout
His wife diagnosed with cancer the day before the bout, Rafael Vazquez, a huge underdog, won the vacant New York State and WBA Fedalatin Super Bantamweight titles at Resorts New World Casino in Queens, New York, on September 23, 2013. Having lost the bout on the cards, Vazquez knocked out 30-2 Leon Moore to win the bout late in round 9 in the scheduled ten rounder. The bout took 100 minutes to complete, due to several ring rope collapses in round 7. Ring repairs by the repairmen continued during round 8 on the ring apron when the ropes sagged but the bout was not stopped. Despite the delays, Vazquez never gave up and got a standing ovation at the bout's exciting conclusion.
