"4th ranked welterweight Ralph Dupas, New Orleans, won a unanimous decision over New Yorker Frankie Ryff in a 10 round bout Sunday night. The shifty Dupas came on strong late in the fight. Ryff's well-known glass face, which had undergone plastic surgery to slow its bleeding tendencies, showed the effects of Dupas' hard right and furious left jabs by the 7th round. Ryff was visibly dazed by a hard right cross as the final bell rang. Dupas pounded at Ryff's face during most of the fight. Dupas opened cuts over Ryff's eyes in the 7th round. Ryff opened a cut over Dupas' eye in the 8th." -Associated Press
