In a televised IBF eliminator, a close bout while it lasted. Bailey had a reach advantage which Figueroa tried to neutralize by fighting close and countering. Figueroa went down in the first for a flash knockdown, and Bailey went down in the second for a flash knockdown. Both fighters were moving backward and went down with bad footwork after grazing blows, but were not hit solidly. Bailey appeared to win the third as his right hand lead landed more consistently. In the fourth, Bailey feigned a left followed by a lightning fast right hand lead to the head between Figueroa's upraised gloves that put Figueroa on his back knocked out for the count for the first time in his career.
