"Randy Turpin, former middleweight champion of the world, outpointed Duggie Miller of South Africa, in a 10-round bout tonight before a capacity crowd of 8,000. Turpin took command from the opening bell. He dropped the easy-to-hit Miller for two in the 2nd round, for eight in the 9th, and had the South African on the canvas twice in the last round. The referee tolled seven over Miller when the bell rang ending the fight." -Associated Press
